Biography - Brian Mears

Brian C. Mears is a Colorado native who has dabbled in art for his whole life. After earning his Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) in 2007 from Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Boulder, Colorado he set forth building a career in the healing art of acupuncture. Through various turbulent twists in life, Brian discovered a love of drawing highly detailed artwork focused on various expressions of sacred geometry and the inner connectivity of the human spirit. Most of his art originates as an inspired vision that flashes in front of him with he's moving through his daily life. These visionary peices take over a hundred hours to render and are extremely difficult to articulate over a computer screen. In 2020, Brian picked up a paintbrush for the firsttime since grade school to create a large comissioned mandala for an acupuncture patient. Since then, he had produced numerous paintings along with his detailed ink drawings. Brian draws for a minimum of an hour a day as a form of medatitative self-care in preparation for his days of treaiting patients and being a single dad of three kids.  For more information about Brian, you can find him on Instagram @acu_art or visit his acupuncture website.
